I never could have imagined that I would be getting inducted into the University of Mississippi Hall of Fame when I arrived on campus four years ago! It was one of the most humbling, rewarding and exciting experiences receiving the phone call from our Dean of Students when she shared that I would be recognized alongside 9 of the most remarkable leaders on campus for this honor.
In anxious anticipation of the Who’s Who Ceremony the next month where the big news would be announced, I was able to select 9 people to join me at my table at the Hall of Fame Dinner. This was a huge task because there are dozens and dozens of people that made my time at Ole Miss so unbelievably special.
Of course my amazing parents joined me for the event! In addition, my Honors Advisor, Thesis Advisor, Pageant Director’s Wife (Bradley was sick so he couldn’t come), Tri Delta Advisor, Tri Delta Staff Member, Little Sister in DDD, and Biggest Fan were also a part of the celebration!
200 of us were recognized at the Who’s Who Ceremony, and at the end the 10 Hall of Fame inductees were announced. My bio was read first, and it was so excited seeing who the other people joining me would be! It was such an impressive group that had touched campus in so many different ways (I am still so shocked and honored to have stood alongside them!)
I am forever grateful to every person that has poured into me, challenged me, lead me and loved me throughout my past 4 years at Ole Miss. I can’t wait to continue giving back to the place that has given me so much throughout the next two years of graduate school!
