This past Thursday I had the tremendous honor of throwing the first pitch at the Arkansas Travelers baseball game. It was something I have always wanted to do, and I can most definitely mark it off of my “bucket list” now!
I met some amazing kids while I was there. My dad even received an email from a friend saying that his family had run into us and that his daughters got excited to take a picture with me. They said, “Look! A REAL princess!!!” It is moments like these that make the stress of a pageant title worth it. The crown and sash give titleholders such a strong influence over the people around them (especially kids), and it is a great responsibility. I plan to take this position very seriously in order to be a positive role model to the people that I encounter during my year.
I basically feel like a professional baseball player now haha! My dad and I have been practicing for a while now, so it was rewarding seeing my work pay off. The ball fell a little short of home plate, but it was straight and most definitely a good pitch for a pageant girl(; I had a blast not only throwing the pitch but signing autographs, eating some good ole baseball food, and watching America’s favorite pastime with my friends and family!
