I had a blast participating in the Perry Outreach Program! The Perry Initiative is designed to promote girls’ interest in careers in medicine and engineering (specifically orthopedic surgery and biomedical engineering). It was a one day seminar at UAMS, and I had so much fun! I learned from a knee and arm cadavers, I was taught how to put on a cast, and did many experiments with fake bones to learn how to fix them when injured! It was a great learning experience and I’m glad I was selected to participate in this prestigious program!
