Last Saturday was the final prelim of the 2013 season, Miss Sweetheart of AR and OT pageants. I have spent a lot of my Saturday evenings of this year attending local preliminary competitions, so it greatly saddened me to know that this was the final one to attend as Miss Metro’s OT. Also, this pageant shares the directors of Metro, so I gained two more sister queens! What we call the “Hart clan” is now complete with 8 titleholders- Metro, LR, Pulaski, and Sweetheart. My sweet friend, Alexis Landers, won the teen pageant, and the beautiful Mary Scarlet Sherwood won the miss pageant. I am really excited to be apart of their journey and to have them as a part of mine!
Also, their was a separate Princess pageant that afternoon. My little sister, Payton, competed and she won! She will escort one of the girls at the Miss Arkansas pageant. The Diamond State Princess Program is a mentoring system that the Miss America system participates in. It teaches little girls and boys lots of life lessons! I am very proud of my little sister.
We also saw our two stunning state title holders- Laura Leigh Turner: Miss Arkansas’ Outstanding Teen and Sloane Roberts: Miss Arkansas! These girls have been such an inspiration this year and have represented our state very well. I am glad I have gotten to know them and I have loved watching them at the prelims all year.
Lots of other local titleholders attended the pageant also! I had a great time catching up with them. I cannot believe that I will be competing against the girls that have become some of my closest friends:( I love them very much!
