I competed in my first pageant more than 10 years ago, and I have been hooked since!
In August 2012 I was named Miss Metro’s Outstanding Teen 2013, and was honored to be a Top 10 semifinalist and the winner of the Preliminary and Overall Lifestyle and Fitness awards at the Miss Arkansas’ Outstanding Teen 2013 pageant.
My junior year of high school I was crowned Miss Teen Arkansas International 2014 and then Miss Teen International 2014. I spent my senior year traveling to 16 different states as I spoke to students about healthy living, anti-bullying and discovering their leadership potential.
In college, I had the amazing opportunity to be a part of the Ole Miss Parade of Beauties for six full years! I placed in the Top 10 in 2016, was crowned Ole Miss Most Beautiful 2017, emceed the pageant in 2018 and 2019, and served as the Assistant Director for the show in 2020 and 2021.
I was so excited to compete in the 2017 Miss Mississippi pageant as Miss Parade of Beauties and to have been named the Alpha Non-Finalist Interview winner, Preliminary Swimsuit Winner, Alpha Non-Finalist Swimsuit Winner and Mutual Credit Union Business Scholarship recipient that resulted in thousands of dollars in scholarship money to help fund my education!
Representing the hometown of the Miss MS pageant as Miss Vicksburg 2018 was an incredible honor! Being named a Top 10 semifinalist, the Miss America Community Service Award recipient and a Social Media Challenge finalist at Miss Mississippi 2018 was icing on the cake to a great year of service!
It was a dream come true being in the Miss Mississippi Competition as Miss University 2019! After a phenomenal year of giving back to the Oxford community and representing the campus that means so much to me, being named 4th runner up to Miss Mississippi 2019 was such an incredible honor and an amazing way to finish my pageant career as a contestant. I was also able to serve as the Assistant Director for this pageant in 2020 and 2021.
I had the great opportunity to dig deep and learn more about pageantry by conducting research and writing my Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College Honors Thesis on There She Evolves: The Financial, Marketing and Journalistic Sustainability of the Miss America Organization which was published in April 2019. I learned so much about where this program has come from and where it is headed.
I continued my time behind the scenes as the Advisor for the University of Florida Homecoming Leadership Pageant. This competition works with a talented group of students to recognize some of the best leaders at UF, showcase an amazing Homecoming Court and ultimately crown the Homecoming King and Queen.
After a 4 year hiatus, it has been incredible being back in the Miss America Organization as I FINALLY pursued my dream of competing on the Miss Arkansas stage!!! I represented El Dorado as Miss Boomtown in the newly revamped format. I was named the Alpha Private Interview award winner for the Mu group, the Alpha and Overall Evening Gown night 1 preliminary winner, the Alpha and Overall Health and Fitness night 3 preliminary winner, a Top 15 Semifinalist, and a KISS Heart Disease Goodbye Scholarship winner during my first year at Miss Arkansas.
I am forever grateful for the communication skills, confidence, poise, leadership development, scholarship funds and friendships that I have gained through pageantry, and I look forward to many more years of participation in this community!
